ONE Language has experienced significant growth over the past two and a half years. In particular, our work with clients in the medical field has evolved. Many of them have recently implemented new policies, increasing the requirements placed on interpreters. In response, we are making adjustments to stay aligned with these new expectations.
To meet these standards, ONE Language has partnered with Language STAT to provide the HC-PICSI assessment for interpreters who do not currently hold a 40-hour Medical Interpretation Training Diploma or a National Medical Interpreter Certification.
Note: This requirement applies only to languages other than Spanish and if you don’t have the minimum 40 hours of interpreter training.
As independent contractors, you will be responsible for covering the cost of the test. However, ONE Language has secured discounted rates ($120.00 – $145.00) through Language STAT. The assessment includes two parts:
1. CST – Communication Skills Test
Assesses your ability to understand and communicate effectively in English and your target language. Optional modules are available for specific industries such as healthcare.
2. PICSI – Preliminary Interpreter Candidate Skills Interview
Evaluates entry-level interpreter skills through role-play scenarios, with a focus on accuracy and industry terminology—especially in healthcare and customer service settings.

1. Review Attachment to see the list of available languages and their prices. We recommend selecting the one you consider your mother tongue.
2. Reply to this email to roce@one-lsp.rippedboxstation.com with the following information:
1. First and last names
2. Language
3. Gender
4. Email address
5. Time Zone
6. On the email please add to the Subject line: “Test”
3. I will submit your request to Language STAT so you can receive the discounted rate.
4. Language STAT will then contact you to arrange the test date, payment, and other logistics.
5. As soon as Language STAT contacts you, please respond without delay to schedule and complete the test promptly.
6. Once the test is completed, both you and ONE Language will receive the results.
7. We will contact you once we have received and reviewed your test results.
